Skillsoft Texas TABC Certification (On- and Off-Premise) is an approved certification program by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC). If you work in a bar, restaurant or any other on-premise or off-premise establishment in Texas, the Skillsoft alcohol seller and server training course will provide you the training and certification to responsibly serve and/or sell alcohol. This two (2) hour course includes the Texas criminal and civil laws and consequences for serving and/or selling alcohol. Each lesson covers different areas that you as a server/seller need to be familiar with, such as how to properly check IDs and how to spot a minor or an intoxicated individual.

The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission believes certified TABC sellers and servers are better equipped to identify and prevent the sale of alcoholic beverages to minors, intoxicated persons and non0members of a private club. By attending a certified TABC training course, all sellers and servers of alcohol can better understand the laws and regulations around the serving of alcohol. Techniques learned through these lessons will better help employees and establishments remain in compliance of such laws.

Program Requirements:
Eligible courses include, but are not limited to covering the following subjects:
  • The definition of intoxication and laws pertaining to intoxicated persons.
  • Proper identification techniques and law pertaining to minors.
  • Fake, altered and look-a-like ID’s
  • Recognizing and Preventing Intoxication
  • How to use a chart showing the effects of alcohol based on: the size, type and number of drinks; body weight; the sex of the drinker; and the passage of time.
  • The dangers of alcohol poisoning.
  • Intervention techniques pertaining to intoxication and minors.
  • Sanctions for employee violations.

All employees working in a licensed establishment authorized to sell alcoholic beverages should complete the Texas Alcohol Seller/Server Training Program approved by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC).

Certificate of Completion
Certification: Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) – Provider #605-680

All TABC certifications are valid for a period of two (2) years. In order to maintain your certification, you must attend the full seller/server training course every two (2) years.

Upon successfully completing our certified TABC alcohol training course and passing the final exam, you will immediately have access to print your certificate of completion. Access to your certification will remain active in the event you need to return to the site and re-print your certification in the future.
